Training Schedule and Location

Linda and Tango

When: OWDA training is currently held Saturday and Sunday morning. Tracking starts at 7:00 AM. Obedience/protection work starts at 8:00 AM. Conformation training is generally held following schutzhund training on Saturday, as needed.

Where: The OWDA training fields are located in Mohawk Park in north Tulsa, just north of the airport. Enter the park at the Tulsa Zoo entrance off N. 36th Street, and go straight along the main park road (Choctaw Drive) past the zoo and the kiddie park (both on your left), torward the "Polo Fields" (large open fields to the right); before you come to the Polo Fields, there will be a gravel road the goes to the right; turn in and follow the road around, until it turns right, into a deadend gate. Continue forward off the road toward the east, and our training field is in the southeast corner of the Polo Fields.

Please note that if you enter the park after approximately 9:00 AM on weekends during late spring, summer and early fall, there is a $2.00 "parking" fee, unless you have a "Zoo Friends" decal (which gets you in free).

Tracking is held at various club tracking fields in the general vicinity of the Tulsa Airport. Which one is currently in use at any given time is dependent on local conditions.

Here is a link to a map of the current tracking fields: Yahoo map of N. 69th E. Ave. and E. Virgin St., Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Here is a link to a map of the training fields: Entrance to Mohawk Park, intersection of E. Port Road and Choctaw Dr., Tulsa, OK. The training field is at the southeast corner of the large open field at the top-center of the map, just east of the west branch of Choctaw Drive.
